“You were so into your book, I don’t think you noticed me falling in love with you.”
I really enjoyed looking through these Missed Connections. (via Oh, Joy!) I have a feeling that in NYC, missed connections happen all the time. You can walk by hundreds of people just going down the block to the grocery store or thousands of people on the way to work in the morning. You’re packed like a sardine in a tin can during rush hour in a little subway car, standing body-to-body next to a perfect stranger. I can’t help to think that many of these “missed” connections aren’t really missed per se because there’s a connection somewhere, if small and perhaps unnoticed. I think that’s why I love these — they illustrate, with imaginative clarity, those little moments that might mean something deeper to you even though they are often missed by others.
Even if you don’t live in New York City, I hope you find that moment to connect with someone today. :)
